Egg-sitting Challenge

Hi everyone,

I have decided that Room 10 will be abandoning the egg challenge this week.

I thought it would be a nice lead in to the Keeping Ourselves Safe unit we are starting next term and a cool way to end the term with an 'egg' theme for easter.

I admit defeat.

The children are not ready for an activity like this and after the emails and tears from children and parents, I think it best we put an end to the activity and enjoy the last couple of days before we break for holidays.

If your child's egg is still intact, they will probably bring it home this afternoon.  They might like to continue the challenge at home however we will not be inviting the eggs back to school.

Thanks for your understanding.

Regards,

CJ's last day

We celebrated CJ's last day at Waikanae School and the photos became crazy!  Lots of fun.  Tongue out seemed to be the pose of the day.  All the best in Auckland CJ.
Keep in touch with us in Room 10.  We miss you already!

What a wonderful world.......

I loved the monkeys crossing the river!  What did you like?

Colour Poetry

Choose a Colour
By Caleb Grimstrup

If I were white, I’d be a bland sheep wandering in the farmer’s grassy meadows.

If I were aqua, I’d be a colossal tsunami bringing down a towering skyscraper.

If I were gold, I’d be a sparkling nugget waiting to be mined in the vast underground.

If I were crimson, I’d be a glass of the finest berry flavoured wine.

If I were forest green, I’d be an ancient tree growing higher with each long year passing.

If I were black, I’d be the fastest private jet zooming across the sky with the president inside.

If I were magenta, I’d be a sparkling wig sitting atop my lovely teacher’s head.

If I were brown, I’d be a majestic gazelle leaping away from it’s deadly hunter.

If I were cream, I’d be a vanilla plant waiting to be picked and turned into yummy tip top.

If I were bronze, I’d be Greek armour being showcased inside bulletproof glass.

We are readers.....

Our library time is one of the favourite times in the week where we get to discover new 'treasures' in the book shelves.  We try to 'steal' as many reading opportunities as possible in Room 10.
