Term One 2014

Term dates = Tuesday 4th February - Thursday 17th April (11 weeks)

Year 6 Camp - Week 7 - 19-21 March at Palm Grove Camp, Paraparaumu Palm Grove Camp
There will be a special day out for years 4 and 5 to Nga Manu.  This will be taking place on Thursday 27 March and the postponement date for this trip will be the following day (Friday 28 March).  Mor information will be on its way.

BOOK BAGS - Thanks to a generous donation from Gus Evans at Gus Evans Nursery, each child of our syndicate will be provided with a book bag to use for the year.  We desperately need them to keep our school library books, exercise books, school readers etc in good shape in their transition between school and home.

HOMEWORK - In Room 10 we have weekly homework to be completed.  There will always be a reading log to fill out each night and spelling words to learn each week.  If there is anything else to be completed, there will be communication via homework book (1B8 exercise book).

LIFE EDUCATION TRUST CARAVAN - We are looking forward to welcoming the caravan back to school for some useful lessons on Social Relationships - Friends.

SWIMMING - We are hoping to have some more swimming slots at the Waikanae Pool.  Our school swimming sports and inter-school swimming sports happen this term too so all the competitive swimmers can get their goggles and caps ready!

SCHOOL COUNCILLORS - In the first few weeks of school we will be talking about what makes a good school councillor and what roles they will fill throughout the year.  One role in particular is introducing items at our school assemblies.  Each class chooses 2 class councillors.
